An elegant home that epitomises the Salvatori ethos of understated luxury and belief that great design must be liveable

Looking out over the crystalline ocean, this wonderful home is a true sanctuary, set against the perfect backdrop of Malibu’s breathtaking views and laidback vibe. Contemporary design combines seamlessly with the setting to create a result that nurtures the soul and invites contemplation.

The meticulously detailed interiors emit an atmosphere of exclusivity and tranquillity through an artful choice of Salvatori's understated palette of natural stone textures. The master bathroom, in particular, is inspired by the concept of a luxury spa, creating a spacious area dedicated to relaxation and self-care.
Every element has been carefully selected to create a unique sensory experience, where luxury is expressed through the quality of materials and the harmony of design.

One of those experiences is waking up in the master suite and opening your eyes to the incredible vastness of the Pacific Ocean with its shades of blue that constantly change with the light. The large windows allow the sea breeze to gently enter, bringing the salty scent and the relaxing sound of the waves.

The ensuite bathroom’s sophisticated but understated design is all about pure relaxation. The star of the show is the Silk Georgette® limestone, in a honed finish on the floor and Chevron on the walls. Its unique veins create extraordinary patterns that give the stone the same warmth and sensations as wood.

The bathtub and shower are in Gris du Marais®, for a soft, harmonious contrast, while the glass storage units of the fully customisable Hito vanity unit add further interest in terms of materials on top of their purely functional benefits.

We now move on to the main bathroom where the walls in Bianco Carrara Infinito create a sense of continuity that showcases the marble's veined pattern and serves to visually expand the space. The effect is heightened by the use of the same stone in a honed finish on the floor for a look that is all about classic elegance, subtle light reflections and a luminous, welcoming atmosphere.

The focal point is, without doubt, the oversize sunken bathtub with its ocean view, positioned beside an enormous window that creates the effect of being suspended between sky and sea as you look out towards the horizon. Surrounded by Bianco Carrara walls, with designer details such as Spaghetti tapware and the Flamingo towel stand, this mini-pool is the very definition of bliss.

It would be all too easy to while away hours soaking in the tub, but when time is of the essence, the walk-in shower is another regenerating experience. The Filo shower tray creates a sense of spaciousness while the minimalist, contemporary Spaghetti shower heads and taps work add that extra touch of luxury to the shower ritual.

Offering dramatic contrast to the gleaming white floor and walls is the double-basin Adda vanity in rich chocolatey brown Pietra d’Avola. Completing the décor is a pair of Archimede rectangular mirrors with LED mirrors.

The attention to detail and elegance extends outside where we find a tastefully decorated terrace that is the perfect place to enjoy Malibu’s mild climate, maybe stretched out on the Curl chaise longue with a book or simply gazing out at the endless sea.
When it comes to alfresco dining, the Span table is large enough to seat plenty of friends for a convivial meal or sunset drinks. The sturdy, uncompromising form of the marble table and matching bench seating are in perfect harmony with the surroundings, making for a truly unforgettable setting for hosts and guests alike.

Returning indoors, the living room welcomes us with it muted elegance and warm atmosphere. The floor in honed Crema d’Orcia Aura combines with walls in the same colour, but in Romboo texture, which adds depth and an intriguing three-dimensional effect.

The Omphalos coffee table by John Pawson is placed in the centre of the room and is as much a piece of sculpture as a functional item of furniture. A deceptively simple raised circular disc of white marble, it appears to float above the floor, challenging our concept of gravity and becoming a fascinating focal point.

Dominating the dining room, instead, we have the majestic Taula dining table in Crema d’Orcia. At 3 metres long, it becomes a spectacular stage for memorable meals. Inspired by the megaliths of Majorca and Minorca, it combines pure lines and imposing dimensions in a design that is both functional and artistic.

The floor is also in Crema d’Orcia, for a seamless flow between the dining and living rooms. This warm, creamy limestone adds the same touch of timeless elegance and sense of serenity that is found throughout this very special home.
