We’re delighted to present our latest accessories collection, Precioso, designed in collaboration with renowned American designer Stephen Burks. Comprising a vase and photo frame, it represents an extension of his Friends and Neighbors mirrors introduced in 2021, building on the same theme of caring for the natural world and the people and things we hold dear.

The name Precioso refers not only to the finished articles in the sense of items to cherish, but also to the material they are made from.
Besides sharing a love of meaningful, innovative design, both Salvatori and Stephen Burks are committed to a sustainable approach to art and industry. Recognising the importance of safeguarding our planet and its precious resources, the pieces are made from offcuts of natural stone in a bid to reduce waste and give new life to what already exists.
As with Friends and Neighbors, a vivid palette of natural stones is used, with classic black and white in the form of Bianco Carrara and Nero Marquinia juxtaposed with the bold bright hues of Verde Guatemala green, Giallo Siena yellow and Rosso Francia red.
"The name Precioso comes from thinking about the people and things that we hold dear to our hearts, the idea of caring and cherishing" explains Stephen Burks. “It’s also about how to slow down. We live in a world that moves so quickly that often we don’t have time to grasp the true wonder of the natural world that surrounds us. And of course, stone is part of that. It’s absolutely precious, hence the name. As are our nearest and dearest. And so, the frame is a kind of tribute because it’s where we keep images of our loved ones, while the vase represents our love of nature.
I’m thrilled to once again work with Salvatori on a project that puts the spotlight on diversity and showcases its immense potential and beauty through the incredible colour palette provided by natural stone.”
The Precioso vase is made up of four rectangles of differing heights, with a glass cylinder placed inside and is designed to showcase the beauty of nature in the form of flowers or greenery. The frame, which can be used in portrait or landscape format, is a patchwork of long slim rectangles in different stones, perfect for holding a photograph of your nearest and dearest.
"It has been a pleasure to work with Stephen Burks again, a designer with whom we share many common values, especially as it pertains to sustainability” says CEO Gabriele Salvatori. “Together, we’ve sought to restore dignity to every single fragment of raw material. While stone is an exceptionally long-lasting material, potentially eternal, it is also finite, so we work to create designs that are as timeless as the material, that can accompany us throughout our life and be handed down to future generations.”
