Salvatori brings Light & Colour to Milan Design Week 2024
Milan Design Week is always a highly-anticipated date in any self-respecting design lover’s calendar, when the city becomes the global stage for incredible design.
As always, the Brera district will be a key destination of the Fuorisalone events and we’re looking forward to presenting new products and welcoming visitors from around the world to our showroom at via Solferino 11 and our boutique around the corner in Largo Treves.
This year’s Fuorisalone theme is "Materia Natura" which translates as “Natural Matter” and invites participants to reflect on the connection between the two words and how they can be interwoven through the creative process to highlight sustainability as a guiding principle when it comes to design.
It’s a theme that ties in nicely with our own one which is “Light & Colour” and which will see a number of our rooms transformed into settings that offer an immersive experience in which visitors will discover the power of these two elements to define the look and feel of a space, particularly in the context of natural stone.
Our boutique is also undergoing a makeover in readiness for MDW2024, and will showcase a Salvatori Total Look in Pietra d’Avola and Silk Georgette® limestones.

Salone del Mobile 2024 dates and theme
Design Week never fails to transform the city of Milan into a stimulating melting pot of ideas, as design aficionados present their visions of the future and share their passion for their industry. Over the years, this annual event has become a type of laboratory, fostering experimentation and innovation and creating a fertile environment for new opportunities and collaborations.
What originally began in 1961 as Salone del Mobile, known as the Milan Furniture Fair, has grown incredibly in the six decades since, now involving over 2000 brands, attracting young designers from all over the world and offering visitors a wealth of content from furniture to lighting to artistic installations.
While Salone itself is held in the enormous Rho exhibition centre, the other focal point of Design Week is Fuorisalone, which translates as “Outside Salone”. This is scattered among different neighbourhoods of Milan such as Brera, Isola and Tortona, where the streets play host to displays, installations and events that deliver a unique perspective on design.
Our showroom is situated in one of the most fascinating courtyards of the buzzing Brera district and as always, we are working behind the scenes to create surprises and an inspiring, multi-faceted experience. This year, visitors who make their way up our famous staircase will not only discover new collections, but also how light and colour can be used to stimulate the senses and invite interaction.
A preview of what to expect from Salvatori this Fuorisalone
The Salvatori showroom will be open every day of Fuorisalone, meaning visitors have the chance to visit from Tuesday 16 till Sunday 21 April between 10 am and 9 pm.
As mentioned above, our theme this year is “Light & Colour”. We demonstrate the importance of light when it comes to bathrooms, not only in the purely functional sense but also to create atmosphere by bringing out the extraordinary nuances of natural stone, even through subtle innovations such as adding LED to our existing range of Archimede mirrors.
Colour, on the other hand, is explored through a new bathroom collection designed by Patricia Urquiola. Called “The Small Hours”, it is a sophisticated and original take on bathroom décor, combining design, functionality and an innovative use of materials.
There is also news when it comes to the choice of stone, with our classic neutral palette being joined by more vibrant colours such as pink and green. These additions represent the perfect counterpoint between Salvatori’s philosophy of understated luxury and the distinctive style of Patricia Urquiola.
The Small Hours includes a comprehensive range of elements with wall-hung, countertop and freestanding washbasin variants, a top with backsplash, shelves, drawers, a shower tray, round bathtub and a mosaic pattern. There are also a series of accessories including round and rectangular mirrors in a range of sizes which can be customised with the phrase “Believe me or your eyes”. Rounding out the collection is a family of floating shelves and a stool in walnut wood.
The collection features striking and precise geometric forms brought to life in a combination of natural stone in a range of textures and colours, along with wood and steel.
In other bathroom news, we’ll also be presenting new variants for the Hito collection and our popular Adda range is also getting a makeover.
Last but not least, we’ve developed a new 3-metre version of our Taula dining table and expandeddd the “Love me, Love me not” table collection to include an option in our much-loved Pietra d’Avola limestone.
